Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and dark forces expanding in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear out of place, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their status as key figures in the powerful family could help the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Explorers and Schemers groups.
